One of the most frequently asked questions about our Lagerstroemia; ‘but they are not hardy at all?’ We always say that wholeheartedly, Yes! They are. In the world of Lagerstroemia there are hundreds of varieties, not all of which are suitable for the Northern European climate. The species that we grow are all selected for their hardiness and exuberant flowering. Winters down to -20 are no problem for these strong Lagerstroemia species. The plants do however like warmth. Summers of 30+ degrees will make the plants bloom extra profusely. But even cooler summers do not hinder flowering. Cold, warm, frost, heat, our Lagerstroemia species can handle it all with ease.
